Hey Sportset Kids Families,
Thank you all for your continued support and patronage during these turbulent times. We’d like to take a minute to introduce a few modifications to the program while highlighting some of our proud successes this past year.
Since the beginning, Sportset and Sportset Kids have taken a progressive approach towards Covid-19 safety and protocols. Our goal was to be the standard in Covid safety procedures. Our well documented building modifications and safety protocols from the summer, have put us in position for the successes for the fall and winter months.
If you did not know, we have already had 2 unscheduled, unannounced, inspections from the Nassau county Department of Health, and several from the Nassau county fire Marshalls office. We have received the HIGHESTletter grade possible each time from their thorough inspections. As a matter of fact, on one occasion the Department of Health actually said this was the best facility she has seen. Additionally we have contracted a Third Party auditor to conduct bio film testing throughout the facility. On those tests we again received the highest grade possible.
If you were not aware Sportset Kids was home for 300 campers during 10 weeks of our summer. We are really so humbled that so many chose and trusted Sportset as their destination this year. Additionally we ran a comprehensive fall schedule this season. And we are happy to say after the entire summer and fall season, which amounted to over 4,500 individual check-ins, thus far we have 0 reported cases.
Although we are happy with our progress in regards to safety, we realize we need to continue to be diligent in the fight against covid. For session II, please be aware of the following protocols:

Although we are happy with our progress in regards to safety, we realize we need to continue to be diligent in the fight against covid. For session II, please be aware of the following protocols:
- Children should wear masks while entering and exiting the building. They will wear their mask during warmups, instructional time, downtime, bathroom breaks and upon exiting. Only while being engaged in the “core activity” of the class are they permitted to remove the mask.
- Every child is pre-registered for all classes, enabling us to cap the number of participants below the NY State guidelines.
- Please follow our new protocols for drop off and pick up by using our Maple Ave entrance.
- Parents should wear masks and stand 6’ apart while waiting to drop off and pick up. Please be sure to park in a legal spot, NOT blocking and driveways or parking spots. The small lot next to us is exclusively for the Dance Centre. Please be courteous and keep it clear.
- All participants will have a health check at the door upon entry. The coaches will take temperatures and distribute hand sanitizer at the beginning of the class.
- Please be sure to notify Sportset Kids if your child’s health check status has changed from the first day. Upon entry the first day you will be asked.
- Has your child had any covid symptoms within the last 14 days?
- Has your child traveled out of state in the last 14 days?
- Has your child been in contact with anyone that has tested positive within the last 14 days?
- All staff will continue to wear face coverings at all times.
- All equipment is sanitized after each class as well as deep cleaning done overnight. We have installed UV lights as a germicidal tool in the HVAC system as well as maintained the Merv 13 filters.
- Withdrawal from classes after the first week will result in a credit to be used for a future class or camp only.
- Our Sportset Kids protocols are in complete compliance, and in many areas, more than compliant with the NY State Forward Sports and Recreation Guidelines.
We continue to appreciate your help and support in this ever-changing process.
We’ll see you on the field,
The Sportset Team
